What to Say at 7-Eleven in Thailand
Kru Fah

This week’s Thai Phrasebook teaches you how to shop politely in Thailand.
Whether you’re in a 7-Eleven, a weekend market, or a street food stall, these short phrases will help you interact naturally, ask for what you want, and be understood.
You’ll learn how to:
- Ask for something
- Ask to warm up your food
- Say “That’s all”
- Say “Thank you”
Let’s get into it!
1) "I'll take this..."
Say: ao an-níi kráp/kâ
เอาอันนี้ครับ/ค่ะ
Thai Vocabulary Broken Down:
- ao = to take / to get — เอา
- an-níi = this one — อันนี้
- kráp/kâ = polite particle (male/female) — ครับ / ค่ะ
Say this when pointing at something you want to buy. It’s the most common way to request something politely in Thai.
2) "please warm this up"
Say: ùn an-níi hâi nòi kráp/kâ
อุ่นอันนี้ให้หน่อยครับ/ค่ะ
Thai Vocabulary Broken Down:
- ùn = warm up — อุ่น
- an-níi = this one — อันนี้
- hâi nòi = please (do something for me) — ให้หน่อย
- kráp/kâ = polite particle — ครับ / ค่ะ
Use this if you buy food that needs reheating, especially in convenience stores.
3) "that’s all"
Say: kâe-níi kráp/kâ
แค่นี้ครับ/ค่ะ
Thai Vocabulary Broken Down:
- kâe-níi = that’s all / that’s it — แค่นี้
- kráp/kâ = polite particle — ครับ / ค่ะ
Use this when you’re done ordering.
4) "thank you"
Say: khàawp-khun kráp/kâ
ขอบคุณครับ/ค่ะ
Thai Vocabulary Broken Down:
- khàawp-khun = thank you — ขอบคุณ
- kráp/kâ = polite particle — ครับ / ค่ะ
Great for when the shopkeeper hands you your item or change.
